While this looks absolutely fantastic, I'm sort of against the whole "King" concept. I prefer to think of xenomorphs as insects. A queen, a hive, drones, etc. A king conflicts with that.

The "King" concept comes from the Dark Horse Comics series Aliens: Rogue. It's not so much a natural "King" as it is a genetically modified Xenomorph created by a scientist to battle Queen Alien. It was supposed to be bigger and stronger to take out the Queen, but ultimately gets killed by the Queen.

With NECA about to kick off their Kenner waves of the Xenomorphs in the near future, all one has to remember is that there was in fact a Xeno "King" figure that was put out by Kenner. So it definitely wouldn't surprise me if we see him somewhere down the line!

This thing doesn't really look like the one from the book though he kind of looked like a catfish.

Also, in social insects the drone is larger and specialized for breeding with the queen it would make perfect sense if it was some unseen thing that wasn't shown before they didn't know about the queen originally either.

The smaller aliens would be closer to workers not drones.
