sounds great...and i would love to own one but at the moment i do not have the space for something that big nor do i have $200 to throw down on one. so I'm sitting this one out. most likely it will go through due to a handful of guys buying 5 or more each lol I am definitely interested to see and hear more info at nycc!

I really think price would be the lone barrier for people. $200 can be steep to commit sight unseen. However, I doubt it would look bad in any way. Plus, there are so many ways they can go with it, and make it a nice interactive play set and/or display piece. I hope it goes through.

My fear on the castle would be plunking down $200 for a preorder sight unseen and ending up with only the front facade (but extremely well scuplted and painted).

For that price, I'd expect nothing less than a fully-functional playset.

If the sell sheet looks good, I am in for Castle Greyskull. I would have to figure out where to put it, but I always worry about that later. I already have to find somewhere to put Voltron when he is complete, and he was over 200 bones also. If they had a way to make it 4 installments of 50$ each over the year that would be great. At least Voltron only hurt a little every couple of months, but for some people I am sure 200$ a shot is nothing, they will just resell them for 400$ and call it good.

I have two initial thoughts on this matter.

My first reaction is, thats pretty cool. I dont necessarily collect MOTU (I have a few) but to make an analogy of the problem; if Hasbro came out and did something similar for MU, I'd be totally down...picture or no picture, just because I am that die hard of a fan.

My second reaction is though....thats pretty screwed up. I've been following the whole Mattel/Subscription thing and I thought that back in August, what they were asking/doing was reasonable. This to me, seems a bit far fetch'd. They pretty much have nothing conceptually unique which they can present to us and say, "Here!".

In sum, I'm glad I'm not a MOTU collector because half of me would be going die hard on this while the other half would be very jaded towards Mattel for carrying out their business like this.

I think it's great they're willing to try new things for the line and the castle is a great next step. However, like others have noted, 200 site unseen is pretty tough to do. I'm curious though how it will compare between the original. If successful though, you can bet snake mountain will be in their scope at some point.

I don't need not want a Grayskull "playset" just a decent 3D backdrop to display He-Man and Battlecat on.

I hope it turns out well for the MOTUC collectors in the house. Even better, I hope Mattel is able to copy some of the features of the original by leaving add-on points for a future Point Dread and other areas of the new Grayskull.
