Our fellow fans over at The Allspark have interviewed the legendary Transformers writer Simon Furman about the proposed revival of the original Marvel Comics Transformers series, which lasted 80 issues. If you have not already done so, sign the petition here and show your support.

If you need some convincing, here are some key points of what Simon would bring into the series should IDW decide to greenlight it:

- The story would be called "War to End All Wars"
- The creative team that worked together on the story are Andy Schmidt, Simon Furman and Andrew Wildman.
- The story begins 20 years from when issue 80 ended (i.e. now) and Earth has been at peace. The Autobots let their guard down, and as a result a catastrophe happens on Earth.
- The book will focus on the core cast of characters
- Optimus will be mentoring Hot Rod. He sees a potential in Hot Rod that the other Autobots don't see.
- The story will be a single arc, leaving room for additional arcs afterward if sales are good.
- Elements introduced in the G2 comics will come into play in additional arcs.

Many thanks to Might Gaine of our 2005 Boards for providing the keypoint summary.

Visit the Allspark to read the full interview, and if you want to see this happen, click here and sign the petition!
