Jim Lee can do no wrong when it comes to penciling a book. I read a preview of Action Comics # 1 not too keen on the Superman is a jerk angle Morrison is going with. The Batman titles are what I'm looking forward to the most because Morrison is a little more removed from that character so hopefully we'll actually get some new stories rather than convoluted poorly told silver age redos.
It seems to me that whenever Morrison does something that's stand alone, in it's own little world (Like the Allstar titles), using really obscure characters (The island of mad scientists in 52), or just simply his own projects, then he is a fantastic writer.
But, when he is given control over core titles, and major characters then he seems to like to make major and drastic changes just for spite, and just to mess with people.
That's why I don't like him. He doesn't seem to have much respect for the big characters like Batman, Superman, and X-Men. Anytime they announce he's being put on a main continuity, core title I groan. And bad things always happen. (Although, it's extremely hard to top the rubbish of Batman's "death." If all he does to Superman is turn him into a dick, then it's sufferable.)
Oh, and I have a question, for anyone who's reading the reboot titles...
Earlier on, I read a couple articles that suggested this "soft reboot" only effected Earth, and characters that originated from the earth system, but more distant aliens like New Genesis, Apokalips, and the Green Lantern Corps would be uneffected, and one article even suggested they would continue on as everything already written is completely unchanged.
Is this what's happened? It seems unlikely to me. (Although that would be extremely interesting, for Sinestro, or Apollo to start to realize these humans are suddenly different, and recall/remember events differently.)
