Marvel Universe
Best that probably doesn't count
variant Sentinel. Absolutely spectacular figure. Love the headsculpt, colors, and everything. At this point I think I like it better than the ML version
Best
Juggernaut. Very clean, functional build. It doesn't have the crazy sculpting that WW Hulk does or the articulation of Doc Strange but he's an all-around solid figure with few flaws.
Runner Ups
WW Hulk - Easily the second best in the line. Very solid sculpting, great articulation. Prone to paint defects, though, (not to mention the unpainted areas) and the fact he can't hold his weapons well is lame.
Doctor Strange - Really spectacular articulation and paint. The only weak point is that kind of silly expression on his face and the fact that he's doing the Rock's raised eyebrow thing
Thanos - Was really tempted to list this as the best instead of Juggernaut. They mostly share the same sculpt anyway, although the paint is a bit nicer on Thanos. Plus he comes with an alternate hand. How many MUs come with alternate bits?
Worst
Jean Grey. She has no neck. Why does she have no neck?
Runner Ups
SW 2pack Wolverine. Although I hate the stout-body in general, this use probably bugged me the most.
Overrated
Silver Samurai - Really hate his headsculpt. And he's got this strange thing where his feet only really seem to pivot to the side. However everybody seems to love the guy!
Iron Man 2
Best
Comic Series War Machine. One of the nicest all-around figures that I've seen on this scale. The color and shadowing are excellent, plus the accessories are incredible.
Runner Ups
Comic Series Iron Monger (blue). When I saw a review on this guy I thought he had to be a custom. I was surprised that Hasbro would actually make something this nice in the line.
Worst
Pretty much any of the unmasked heads. I can't think of one where they didn't sin against nature.
Runner Ups
Pretty much any Iron Man. Most were plagued by shoddy, visible paint errors. One of the more annoying ones was #26 (comic series modern?). He was the one I most wanted but the eyes were frequently off, the arms weren't placed right, he didn't seem to have forearm articulation, and ultimately he ended up being one of the few things I didn't buy.
Overrated
Hulkbuster Iron Man. He gets so much street cred just for being what he is but, honestly, I just never saw any appeal here.
Spiderman
Best
Rhino. Probably one of the nicest 3.75" figures out there. Even with the gimped articulation, he's still sculpted in a way that makes him look awesome posed. Only real drawback are those lame-ass huge balljoints at the hips (and, again, a lack of knee articulation)
Runner Ups
Lizard. The only drawback might be the size. Otherwise he looks incredible.
Worst
Pick a Spiderman, any variant Spiderman... The only thing they really did right was the super-poseable, the rest lacked articulation and most were lame gimmick costumes
Runner Ups
first Venom. No knee articulation? Really? >_> Sure, the Doc Ock may have been ugly and a terrible design but at least you could stand him reasonably well.
Overrated
Not sure if anything really qualifies. The line is massively overlooked, maybe even criminally overlooked. Although a lot of the figures are so-so, they're providing new sculpts for characters who even if they did appear in MU would just get the same ol' mold with minor tweaks. Otherwise Carnage; besides being rare, there was also that massive running production error where he had two of the same hands... a problem that afflicted the very few I actually did see in stores.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Best
Brown & tan Wolverine. Honestly, this was the one big thing I wanted to see from the line. Solid sculpt, they did the colors right, only issue is the claws.
Runner Ups
Colossus
Sabretooth
Worst
Cyclops. Ugly sculpt, only really good for the accessory
Runner Ups
Movie Deadpool. It looks pretty horrendous.
Overrated
Gambit. Honestly, it's sort of a lackluster design. The trenchcoat just looks silly.
