All the detail work heroes was known for was just ignored, and way too many "oops we goofed" moments in the Loeb era Heroes. I enjoyed the carnival ideas, but the execution of it was just all over the place. Some of it good, some of it just pure crap. Like Peter not absorbing the earth power when he shook the guys hand. Yet next episode he bumps into a woman on the street and gets her power. It went from stellar writing, and tons of interwoven details with how the powers worked and the interactions all meaning something, to then that last season none of it mattering from sloppy writing and piss poor planning and execution.
Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I don't blame the strike, and blame solely the writing staff shake up that included adding Marvel's Jeph Loeb. The same man who is single handedly ruining a lot of marvel comics with his editorial work.
I almost see the new writing team a result of the strike. So I still blame the strike.
But I also agree with 100% of what you said.
