Yeah I'm going to have to agree with omega145 on this one. I'm sure they weren't trying to open the floodgates to people who are in it to win it, but when you do things like that, things go bad before they go good. You EXPECT things to suck a bit. Also, I have to think that you sacrifice a little bit of quality to turn on the quantity. For example, DCUO is going free to play this month, so there are going to be a lot of people trying it for free and I'm guessing (purely guessing here) that at least 50% of those people are going to make the game more sucky for the rest of us, but hopefully, in the wake of the web apocalypse, we'll see some positives. It's funny because it's almost like two of my favourite web communities are going to be going through a major population shift.

Hell, this even mirrors my city, actually. Our city grew tremendously in the last 10 years, but at the same time, all these rig pigs started moving into our city and buying up property and wreaking drunken havoc during their downtime. There was growth, but then there was chaos. Mr. Rogers neighbourhood became... I dunno, that neighbourhood Tony Danza came from before becoming Angela's housekeeper. LOL. The Bronx. No offense to people from the Bronx. Bottom line is that if you increase traffic with promises of wealth and prizes, you'll attract anyone and everyone and their mommy.
