It's also extremely important to note, that just like adults, different children (at *any* age) will have different phobias, and different levels of sensitivity.
Something that scares one child absolutely shitless, will have no effect on the next.
Therefor, what will "scar them for life" is completely subjective.
I was a teenager when Jurassic Park came out. But I've been so enthralled by dinosaurs my whole life, even as a small child... five or six, JP would have been the most awesome thing for me, ever.
I also was facinated by the movie ALIENS, when I was little. That movie didn't scare me one bit.
But Chewbacca in Star Wars scared the piss out of me so badly, my parents had to take me out of the theater (Or so they tell me. I was too young to rememver when Jedi came out. But maybe this is why I hate Star Wars, lol!). Stephen King's It also scared me so badly that for a few years I was afraid of killer clowns coming up out of the bathtub drain.
Point being, what scared me and what didn't is not appliable to another child. Another child may be terrified that raptors are gonna break down the door and eat them, while at the same time laughing at me for something so rediculous as a clown coming out of the bathdrain.
It's all subjective, and only those who actually know a certain child can make a judgement over what he or she can handle, and what will scar them for life.
