He didn't call you names. He said you were ignorant. I like you, D00MTR0N, but I've got to agree. That's a pretty narrowminded view of people. I've had great bosses and I've had terrible bosses. I've been a grunt and I've been in charge. In any company, someone has to be in charge and when that job gets too big a job, sub-groups of management are created. I'd also like to remind you that this thread was "What do you do for a living?" not "What is your opinion about workplace hierarchy." so I guess we're all getting off topic...
Not everyone gets corrupted by power. In fact, a lot of people have great relationships with their managers. It's easy to sling mud at your own boss when he makes a decision you may not necessarily agree with, but to sling mud at everyone in a management position is ignorant. You made an opinion about a position that incidentally targetted everyone in an employed leadership position.
Perhaps if you worded it like, "I don't like managers who are tyrants. In my experience, those who I have worked under have been tyrants.", that would have certainly been more well received. If anyone were to say, "All fans of Dr. Doom are idiots and bad people on the basis that 5 people I've met who like Dr. Doom have been complete jerks. It must be that someone who likes traditional villain characters is inherently evil and stupid." and was completely serious, I'm sure you would chime in with your opinion about how ones interest in a fictional villain character would not automatically corrupt ones own values nor would it impact ones intelligence.
