I'd just do a cut joint at the biceps and wrists (make them swivel joints), cut the feet off at the ankles and add in ball swivels. I'd go for body articulation but I need two Heimdal's for that. Imagine the torso as three parts:

chest
abs
waist

One Heimdal you keep the chest and waist (your cuts must err on affecting the "abs" section while leaving the top and bottom two parts pristine)

Second Heimdal you keep the middle, or abs section, with your cuts affecting the top and bottom. Leaving a pristine middle.

Then double ball joint the top and middle, swivel joint the waist

Add paint, be the envy of all your friends.....
