Just got the Delta7B(the one I referred to as Delta 2 earlier) and it is a fun ship to play with. The droid cockpit can actually fit a regular sized figure. Anyone think Asohka will sit in the droid cockpit in the cartoon later on, with a dome cockpit over it? I think so, the cockpit was obviously meant to be compatible for either a drone, or human/alien/clone figure to sit inside, you can clearly see the leg room sculpted in, if it were just for the drone I doubt Hasbro would have gone out of their way to sculpt those parts in, and detail the interior as well.
I recommend this starfighter. I prefer the look of the old delta with the wings open and panels blown off, and the ROTS fighter with wings popped open, but this is a nice transitional fighter, one that bridges the gap between ep2 starfighter design, to ep3. Worth getting and the separation aspect boosts playability. Once you pull the droid ship out, the wings of it pop out automatically.
There is even an in between mode, unofficial, and not mentioned in the instructions or packaging. Basically don't pull the droid ship all the way out, if softly stays in position with the wings out but not completely detached from the main ship. It looks like the delta 7b with a gap in the middle, but with canards. It isn't the most stable of modes but it does look rather cool.
I do prefer the more angular canopy on the original deltas, but the benefit of this new canopy, is that it gives the pilot much more vision. On the old delta toys, the forward view is completely blocked by the canopy frame itself! Another thing I think
all of you
will love, is the fact that
EVERYTHING
on the fighter is
PAINTED!
