A bit of news reaches us now about upcoming Transformers Prime assortments. It seems that the
Skyquake
Voyager we saw at the San Diego Comic Con last year (pictures attached for those that missed it) is in fact not going to be the first release of the mold - we are getting one based on
Dreadwing
first. Dreadwing, as established in the most recent episode of Transformers Prime, is Skyquake's twin so the repainting of one as the other was inevitable - and given that Dreadwing is tipped to be a major character during season 2, it makes sense to release his toy first while he is fresh in the mind of viewers.
His assortment, the Voyager / Powerizer Wave 3, will also contain repacks of
Bulkhead
,
Optimus Prime
and
Megatron
. Those of you planning to add the
Voyager Class Starscream
to your shelves take note - he is packed one per case, and only in Wave 2 so far.
What is the fate of the touted Skyquake version of this mold though? Doubtless the slides were labelled Skyquake to avoid spoiling a season 2 character reveal - but with Takara-Tomy releasing toys of Transformers Prime in Japan alongside the first season, could we see a Skyquake debut in Japan before America? As always, watch this space.
