As for the teen is beat thing, yeah ultimate spidey was all teen in the comics...did pretty damn well too.

@snowflakian - yeah I never expect marvel cartoons to be 100% comic accurate. I can't think of one cartoon series that has been truly comic accurate yet from marvel rather than just adapting comic stories into something that will consume 22 minutes of weekly airtime. I will say that they at least got the feel of ultimate accurate IMO.

I read some interviews and basically Loeb and the team were challenged by some executive to find a way to do a Spidey show where he can use a lot of tech and is part of a team...*cough*sell toys*cough*… and this is what Marvel came up with.

I understand the marketing direction and I'm actually impressed, all things considered, that it turned out to be something cohesive. This peter does act like ultimate peter Parker. Breaking the 4th wall is definitely a Deadpool thing, but his sidebars work with the narrative and saved us the pain of the origin setup of how he became spidey and how villains became villains and can just jump into new stories.

Bendis is also involved with the show from what I understand. So for people who think the character isn't being handled properly, I'd suggest reading ultimate for a bit (early runs) and seeing if that helps. They got nick fury down and aunt may so far.

I just want to know where Flash's fat bald friend is. He was the huge spidey fan in the comics but it looks like they chose to stick with Flash since he was/is a spidey fan in 616 (and new venom).
just as i said teen shit sells...pretty damn well too, huh?
