These packaging changes aren't done by Hasbro to upset completionists or to screw with the fandom. I doubt anyone really thought about completionists when they switched from the black S.H.E.I.L.D. logo to the gold one, other than the fact that they decided to tweak the packaging design (maybe even due to a suggestion made by Marvel).

Since it was changed around wave 2 or 3 of Series 3, any subsequent release of figures from the first couple waves have the potential to get a gold shield release along with their original black shield release. But because that changeover occurred so long ago, I doubt there will be any more transitional variants (like with the Cap'n and Doc).
