This movie was great. Felt like the director got just about everything right. The pivotal scene with Colson, that badass Banner/Hulk moment towards the end, the ways he utilized characters like Hawkeye and Widow.
Only drawback was the group sitting next to us had someone getting up every 10 minutes and walking in front of us. Annoying but not the end of the world.

Ruffalo nailed it. As much as I liked what Norton did I think he might have been too overpowering in this cast anyway.
Dark Knight and Avengers are just so different that I think they can be held up equally high but for different reasons. Saying one is better than the other is less like comparing two different cars and more comparing a high end car to a high end motorcycle. Avengers has set the bar for fun action comic movies.
