hello fellow arckers !
i have seen this hawkeye movie figure and hasnt came with any arrows
and over the days / weeks i have been making these by yours truly all completly me ! ,
at the moment these are just prototypes and will hopefully go well with the new avengers hawkeye figure !
here is a close-up shot of the basic arrow and the explosives arrows !
and last but not least the grapple arrow !
Yes it did occur to me i could buy a ML7 hawkeye and i thought i might as well be creative , i based the scale off the ML5 punisher which to me seemed like a smiliar scale to the hawkeye by just guessing although hopefully when i get the figure it will be painted and that i have them all to scale.
So how did i make them ? (basic arrows)
well pretty simple
what you need:
-Tooth picks / cocktail sticks
-a match stick for expolsive arrow look
- squared lined paper ( like the paper you use to get out of your maths book)
- a fairly big piece of Blu-tak (this isnt neccisary to make an arrow but to simply hold them)
-and super glue 5ml will be fine
- a swiss army knife / or knife i used swiss army knife smiply for the smaller knife (also needs to be complete)
- nail clippers (dont use your fancy pancy ones use some slightly old ones)
- pencil
step one 1
get your tooth pick and and with nail slippers cut this part where the arrow ends,
in this picture i have showed you roughly where to cut the main goal is to get a fair bit of the other end of the tooth pic and cut one of the ends off like so
Then we get a penknife out (careful its sharp) and switch to a small knife rathar than the big one , then we gently push the knife into the wood bit where you cutted off the other point so that the wood splits kind of in two as you can see below
once finished get your bit of a blue tak and make a ball then stick your arrow in it , and then apply your super glue (again be careful) and add a drop to the top of where you have cutted ,
the blu-tak here is to simply hold it normally which obvisouly lets you use your hands easily instead of getting annoyed from stress
it should look a bit like this
then wait for it to dry
Now for the most hardest thing which requires alot of patienece and time peace and quite , and you need to be in the mood to do this and i know this does get stressful is making the fletchings for your arrow.
This where your paper comes in this part is easy , its to simply draw a flecthing on the paper i drew triangles
make sure you take up two squares and up by one for me here it was bigger and easier but slightly more difficult to get the height right.
also draw more than one this is mostly for your standards simply cause when cutted doesnt always come out how you see fit. I then drew basic triangles well half a triangle to make the perfect shape.
So thats the easy part over , now for the very hard part i thought
is simply getting the the paper to stick on to the tooth pick and standing up right.
Making the Feltchings
step 1 - get your tweasers out of the pen-knife ,and your tooth pick in the blu-tak (dont remove)
step 2 - get your paper shaped triangles you cutted out and super glue.
add a drop to the end of the glue here again
and add the paper on it so its kinda standing up , make sure your toothpick is at a 90' degree angle just to make life easier , then add the paper to the the end ,
HINT: Very helpful i would recommeded get two tooth pics and adjust to make sure the flethings / triangles and able to stand on the wood and blow so air into the wood and paper to help dry quicker using you mouth, do this gently. and remove tooth pics when you think it can stand alone. If completed correctly
Leave it alone wait for half- hour to an hour for it to dry , then repeat process so you have three fletchings on the tooth pics
like so in the picture i showed before.
to get the curve shape simply cut the paper with the nail clippers that will achieve the nice curve shape
Once you have all three fletchings attached to the tooth pic add another drop of supergule on it simple to make it stronger after all its only paper
Repeat the whole process for making more arrows i have made approximatley six to seven if there are any questions please ask , the grapple and explosives arrows our easy i'll update on how to make them later. You can add desired paint colour. EDIT : Note: that arrows need to be 3 inches long in order for them to be in scale unforantley for me my "expolsive" and "grapple" designs werent long enough for the character, *sigh* back to the drawing board.
enjoy
