[Shin Densetsu]

My holy grail when I was younger was the 1/55 VF-1S Super Valkyrie. At the time, I only knew that Bandai had the tooling that was borrowed by Hasbro to make G1 Jetfire. Only later did I find out that Takatoku had created the original 1/55 Macross line, and gave the molds to Bandai once they went bankrupt.

Before folding they released the 1/55 VF-1S Super Valkyrie. Bandai would too, but that would not be until 1990, with some retooling, more stickers instead of printed/painted markings, a clip on heatshield, and an all new head.

In 2002 or so they made a series of 1/55 VF-1 reissues, this time with a ton of markings printed/painted on, and when they re-released the VF-1S, it had the old head this time. So at a con in 2004 I bought the 2002(or 03?) reissue of the 1/55 Super Valkyrie for $75.
