The answer is simple, its a kid targeted line. Limited joints mean a stronger figure. Like it or not they are building them to suit their target audience and they seem to be selling well.
The Iron Man line did have some great figures, which sold well. That left 37 versions of Iron Man. Sadly the best versions of him are in the MU line.
