I actually left the red how it is on the iron cap. I only painted the blue and silver. I know that the what if version has the triangle on his chest but the star chest piece from iron patriot makes more sense for iron cap. I just haven't brought myself to buying another iron patriot for his chest piece.
About the doc ock custom. I made a different version of him. I went with a movie version with a coat. The main appeal I wanted from a doc ock figure was being able to have poseable tentacles. I don't see why drilling into the back would disrupt the arm articulation but I don't have that doc ock figure so I'm not 100% sure.
I made different swappable claws so he can stand on them.
And I added magnets so he can fight spidey on the walls. I loved these fighting scenes from the movie.
