You guys do realize they do a package refresh every year.
So Marvel Universe as you know it is changing... Well that's not much of a shocker at all. It's due for a massive package rebranding for 2013 anyway since it's been using the same packaging since 2009.
I'd still say wait and see what Hasbro has planned, but I don't expect MU to go away at all. Maybe rebranded. The Movie focus only lasts so long as they have limited lifespans on shelves. The rebranding could have to do with Disney XD too, though I would think they'd let those merge to have stronger marketing.
Now if it's because of retailers who like how well avengers is selling, what they need to do is rebrand the packaging with an additional sticker or mark that says "Featuring characters from Disney XD's Marvel Universe" or similiar that reflects that yes these are avengers toys indirectly.
As for Ironman 3, they still have more comic series armors they can do besides movie-line. We still need the real modular ironman, Teen Tony's Holo Armor, Teen Tony's retro armor, and so on. Pretty much any armor between about the 90s-2003 ish.
Now there are a lot of movies coming, but again limited lifespans on those. I just don't see this scale going away anytime soon. The question is mostly towards how to generate retailer support when all they have is $$ signs in their eyes from how well Avengers has done.
