I believe this question was asked before. I believe the main reason why the battle armor feature wasn't brought back for the Classics line was because they didn't want to make major alterations to the main body mold these figures use. I mean, if you make that kind of alteration to the main body mold, they would need to use it for more than just two figures. That's why any sort of extreme alteration was never done (hollowing out the body for Kobra Khan, for example) and won't be done for figures like the Battle Armor figures, Kobra Khan and the upcoming Mekanek and Mosquitor figures.
Mattel's going to use that body mold and get as much mileage out of it as possible before making alterations to it. It's why we haven't gotten or won't be getting figures like Ram Man, Modulok, Multi-Bot, or Two-Bad.
