The dates shown on those placards in the display cases are supposed to represent the estimated timeframe for when that particular figure reaches saturation point at retail (i.e. everyone can find it everywhere). It is not an indication of when the item will first be released at retail.

packaging variant (like cardback changes, weapons moved around in the bubble, etc), but it does list the figure/stand variants.
It's also a little out-of-date, so if someone wants to post updates in that thread, I can edit the list.
