The down side to that is sometimes the buildup is so much that the payoff is more of a letdown than anything (see Venom in SM3), or there never is a payoff because they spent too much time on the buildup (see Lizard in the Sam Raimi SM films).
As for the FF reboot, I think it would be amazing if this movie dealt with their origin (without Victor being involved this time) and use, say, Mole Man or some lower-tier villain as their first team challenge. They win, but find out that the villain they were fighting actually works for someone known only as DOOM.
that would be cool,but the fact is Doom was there from the begining,so to not use him would be to not stay true to the original storyline,which is what the last 2 FF4 films did,if they are going to do that,why do a reboot at all?
