First up for the night is the Spot. Originally created in 1986, most people can't tell you anything about the guy past the fact that he was in the 1994 Spiderman animated series. And a pretty impactful addition to the show, at that. He may have made a rather brief appearance, but his technology appeared multiple times, even at the end. He was originally trying to replicate the Cloak's teleportation ability and ended up creating a black hole. Of course, he decides to step inside. Wouldn't we all? And more black holes attach themselves to his body. I always thought he could be a pretty unstoppable character, but he's been stuck in the obscure character department. One of my favorite pictures of him has Spiderman trying to punch him. His hand goes into a black hole on Spot's chest and comes out the one of his face, and Spiderman ends up punching himself.

This guy was both fun to make and rather tedious. I sanded down every joint to help prevent rub, and then I went through the agonizing process of painting the entire body white. I made sure I had him all broken up and painted it piece by piece so the entire figure would flow better when assembled. After that, I got to apply the spots, which was more fun. lol The first time I went to seal the figure, though, I didn't give him long enough to cure, so some of the spots smeared, and others bled over, giving the white body a look of black drybrushing. So, I scrubbed him down and tried again. Which, the double process seemed to help his durability. For good measure, I let him cure all week, then apply some sealer to help prevent the smearing again. I've checked a few times and so far he seems to be holding up properly. Whew.
