He's basically all about counterstriking. His attack increases each turn if you don't attack (and a counterstrike doesn't count as an attack in this case). His 2nd and 3rd abilities aren't attacks and will grant counterstrikes, which has good synergy with that passive that increases his attacks I mentioned.

His other "use" is to keep MB at bay. He can "generalize" characters so that their class advantages don't work.

Overall, I don't think he's a great character. I like the counterstrike concept he has, it's fresh and fairly well thought out, but I'm not a fan of letting the opponent hit me first. Sometimes he doesn't even get a chance to counter because he dies His retailation attack typically isn't nearly as strong as mental anguish, which is why I can let Emma slide, but not Beast. His lvl 9 seems a little on the weak side as far as a 4 hit melee attack goes.
