Time for another TFW Transformers Toy Gallery update. Today I am very happy to share with you all a gallery of one of my favorite new toys coming out in Fall of Cybertron Deluxe Wave 3,
Kickback
.
Why is Kickback so great? He is, basically, a well-made and fun toy. He transforms from insect mode to robot mode in a clever way that manages to be innovative without being overly-complicated. Both modes are quite striking with lots of purple and a little gold making for a particularly sharp look. In insect mode Kickback is not all that poseable - the insect legs can be adjusted but that's about it. In robot mode though you've got plenty of movement - just about everything other than a waist swivel, and nice big feet with ankle poseability to help hold those poses. Kickback comes with a big, disk-launching weapon and two clear plastic swords which form his wings in insect mode. The disk-launcher is a nice extra, but it is a bit heavy and hard for Kickback to wield. The swords though give a great range of poses. As you might notice in the pictures, Kickback inherits the Transformers Prime Insecticon's additional clawed arms, but if you do not care for the look then they can be stowed on his back.
Where I personally feel Kickback truly shines though is the fact he can more or less fit in with three different types of collection. He will sit well with the other Fall of Cybertron toys of course, but he also goes with the Classics line and even fits in with the Prime line to a point. I've done comparisons of all three as a part of our gallery, which you can check out by opening the link below:
