I think the good news from Toyfair wasn't just the new waves, it's the fact that there weren't any "familiar characters in new outfit" figures. No new Spider-man or Wolverine figures announced. Some fans really want "Marvel Now" MU figures and we didn't see any announced (except Iron Man). I think that means the future of the line is healthy. Mix in "Marvel Now" repaints with members of Alpha Flight, X-Men, and the Avengers that we're missing.

Thats weird to me since the team packs hang around store shelves a lot longer than the comic pack. In my area anyhow.

At those prices, why do they even bother? Hopefully you guys can keep getting your figures from friends on sites like this one.
