Wow, 8 pounds!!! Now even if I thought it was worth it, I couldn´t use it. I store most of my stuff on glass display cases, don´t know if it is a good idea to put that weight over a glass shelf (plus all the other preds and stuff)
Wish you well with this thing and really hope you don´t encounter the q.c. fails that neca has been characterizing for in the last years.
