Moving from one flashy red sports car released exclusively for the Japanese market to another, tonight's new gallery update is
Transformers GT's Super GT Prime with his GT Sister partner Misaki
. All four Transformers GT releases are based on the same mold - Alternity Convoy - and all four feature significant remolding to their alternate modes to give them the rally car design. As the "flagship" release in the new series, GT Prime is a real gem of a toy. He sports an incredible sharp deco with many sponsor details lovingly recreated and a true premium finish on his red painted elements. Everything about this toy screams that he's a proper high end release like the much-loved Binaltechs of old.
GT Prime like all Transformers GT releases comes with a "GT Sister" partner figure, a "race queen" in the vein of the partner figures that were bundled with the Binaltech Asterisk releases. In this case though they use the modern Microman body type, which means the GT Sisters are too large in comparison to the cars, but as a trade off gain the incredible poseability that Micromen are known for. GT Sister Misaki, who comes with GT Prime, sports a very nice shiny red finish on her clothes that goes well with Prime himself, as well as recreating the image of the kind of outfit a real life race queen might find herself wearing. She's a nice extra for the set, though the main event is of course GT Prime himself.
Overall this is a very sharp looking set. Definitely one to check out if you are a fan of the Alternators and Binaltechs of old, and definitely one worth investing in if you like your Transformers high-end and shiny. Check out this gallery, provided for your enjoyment by TFW2005 Photo Staff member SydneyY, and see what you think of this new release.
