My guess, unfortunately, is that retailers didn't want to buy it after seeing it at US Toy Fair back in February, meanwhile Diamond was the only company willing to buy the figures.

I think this is due to big retailers(Walmart, et al), not thinking the line would due well since the Wolverine movie is not done by Marvel Studios and that the line is tied to the release of the movie even though the toys themselves are comic based.
