I used to be the horde collector, always buying 2 or 3 of something, the whole one to keep one to open mentality, but I outgrew it and only keep stuff boxed if it is special or a con exclusive with the exception of the MOTU Classics line which I have the entire line in package. Most everything else I open and display. I have a huge Marvel legends and DC Classics collection and almost all of the TF Classics/Generations displayed. My real weakness is NECA as a whole. I used to get McFarlane stuff when they made movie figures and NECA took that over from them. I have a hard time passing on a lot of the classic stuff they make, like the Aliens, Predators, Rambo, and a lot of the movie figures over the years because they look so good. I have tried to cut back on stuff (although as much as I post on toyark you wound not know) over the years a lot. I have given up the complete line mentality in favor of getting only what I really enjoy for the most part.
Palisades did really have some great stuff.
I definitely agree with your last point, and meant to get at this in my post but forgot. If I buy something, I go into it making sure I'm going to enjoy the figure for awhile, instead of the impulse buys where I end up just having a statue lying around. If I can enjoy it for more than two days, it was money well spent. I'm doing pretty good on that logic.
And Iceman, I'm finally about to move out of my parent's place, which means I'm gonna have to get rid of a TON of stuff myself. It's sad, but then again, a lot of that stuff is just a thing lying around like I mentioned before.
