Director Jon M. Chu talked a bit about G. I. Joe 3 with Collider. He mentioned that both Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Bruce Willis will return. So, we are going to have our Roadblock and General Colton back.

On Retaliation, they have learned that fans were okay with stretching things a little further, so now they can “double down on the adventure part of this movie.” He cautions that they won’t go sci-fi, but they can “push the boundaries of the world a bit more.”

When they [The Director] bring up an idea that they saw in the comic book, the people at Hasbro are able to say, “did you know that there are three different versions of this?”. This was told with regards to the plot of G. I. Joe 3.

Also, the director expressed his interest in directing a G. I. Joe/Transformers Crossover.

"[Jokingly] I got to get rid of Michael Bay first" said Mr. Chu. "We got to get there. We got to evolve to something like that. I would love to. As a kid I would combine my toys. If the realities of their worlds match, I think you are okay to do that. I'd love to. I'd be totally ok to do something like that"
