For our next gallery update, we would like to share with you a look at these cool new Transformers Generations Legends Class two packs. Carrying on in the vein of the
Optimus Prime
and
Bumblebee
two packs, this assortment of Generations two packs gave us Legends Class versions of
Megatron
in his pre-war "miner" design featured in Megatron Origin and Chaos Theory, and
Starscream
as featured in Transformers Infiltration. They each come with a little Mini-Con sized partner, Chop Shop with Megatron and Waspinator with Starscream, who can transform between robot and insect modes, or form weapons for the larger robots.
Both packs are fantastic and a real demonstration of what Hasbro can do with the size. While Waspinator and Chop Shop are basic, they are nicely detailed and interact well with the main figures in the packs. Starscream is a nice solid jet Transformer, and but for his lack of an articulated neck is effectively a downsized version of the Classics Starscream - a few of the transformation steps differ, but all the articulation is there and the toy's design as a whole works really well in the scale. Skywarp and Thundercracker two pack please! Megatron equally is a solid little figure, with a nice silhouette and proportions, plus nice action figure style poseability. He has a nifty bit of engineering which lets his arms form the tank turret but still gives the tank turret full 360 degrees of rotation - an impressive achievement. Megatron and Starscream both are spot on to the comics that inspired them, which is all the more impressive considering their small size.
Overall, both of these Legends two packs are worthy additions to any collection. Between the engineering and the attention to detail, they are hard to fault, even more so considering the relatively low pricepoint that the pack is retailing for.
