Ok I am going to give you all some information on the Clubs here which seems to not be very Fourth Coming.
The Charges.. The Charges of the Figures and Joining the club are accessed at Different times when you Join you are charged 35$ and no more. Additional charges you see are Taxes, Shipping, and First Figure these are not accessed until Jan 10, 2014. Also your Shipping Method is figured into this. If you select the Quarterly the charges remain except it will be 20 X 3 with Shipping and Taxes. Yes the funds need to be there but you will only be charged 35$ the additional charges were never added into the total cost when it charged my Card.
Shipping.. Mattel and Digital River are different companies. Mattel/ Four Horsemen makes the figures and Digital River ships them. Digital River is a large Company and represents several Fortune 500 companies including Microsoft and believe me the CEO of this Company (Joel Ronning) is considered the most over paid. Before you assume that Shipping is More then it would cost you to find these figures in a store its Roughly 3 gallons of Fuel in some states. About $10 thats more then it would cost to drive store to store looking for the figure you want. Also Mattel does not get this Money it all goes to Digital River
Arrival Conditions.. Some people have received Broken or Damaged figures and yes it does happen but it can also happen (and is more likely) in buying from a store. This can happen at any time before leaving the warehouse, Shipping, or Delivery. In a store it can happen Warehouse, shipping to Parent Warehouse, Shipping to Store, Store Back room, or On shelf. Also Missing parts can happen any time and in my case the Staff of Golden Pharaoh was missing from the package box slightly damaged from the Newburgh Walmart.
Uncertainty of Figures.. Ok this is very true you do not know what figures you will be getting most of the figures this year have been highly requested (except Batzarro) and have sold out on Day of sale or with in the week. Big Bad Toy Store has sold out of their entire stock of Pre Ordered figures for 2014 every time they have posted them (Aquaman, Ice, and Superboy).
Advantage.. The advantage of joining the Club(s) are clear you will be getting your figures delivered to you not a middleman named Walmart, Target, Kmart, or Toys R Us. You receive Exclusive(s), Beast(s), Oversized(es), and access to other Items Earlier then people who opt not to join. The Major disadvantage is you are Subject to what ever figure(s) are released even if you do not want them.
Doomsday.. I have seen a lot of people say "I don't want Containment Suite Doomsday" now while I agree that that version isn't the best you will not get Unleashed Doomsday if the Numbers are not high enough. e.g. Club needs 1000 to get Unleashed. 850 is tier 1. Club gets to 950 if the 50 people who made the above statement had signed up then Unleashed Doomsday would be out so please do not think you wont get it every sign up makes a difference.
