Transformers Prime may have ended, but the action lives on with the Transformers Prime toys! For this next gallery we are looking back to where it all started with the Transformers Prime First Edition series. This First Edition two pack depicts Optimus Prime and Megatron's rivalry. It was the only way to get
Megatron
in the First Edition toy line, and also features a Deluxe class
Optimus Prime
and PVC figures of the Autobots human friends
Jack, Raf and Miko
.
The set is a great and fun one. The Optimus Prime is a good solid Deluxe, although his aesthetics are a little weird, particularly his hands. He however sports some nice solid articulation and is lots of fun to play about with. Megatron is the star of the set, pulling off an excellent show-accurate look for the Decepticon leader and managing it without any overtly obvious vehicle parts hanging off his back - a real accomplishment all things considered. He's the best version of Prime Megatron designed in this fan's opinion. The PVC figures of the humans are nice, though they all lack a few paint apps compared to the show models (most notably Miko's highlights are absent) but they are a nice complement to any Prime collection.
