TFW2005 member Sam Nickelson has shared this on-set picture from Chicago with the rest of us in the fandom. This latest set picture shows a wall of propaganda posters which tells us something about the tone of the next installment of the Transformers Movie series and how humanity are going to be viewing Cybertronians. Among the posters we can see:
A city skyline with an American flag, on both black and white backgrounds. The text reads "Remember Chicago. Report Alien Activity"
Posters of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in the style of the 2008 Barack Obama "Hope" campaign posters by Shepard Fairey. A large number of them say "Hate" but one Optimus Prime poster at left and four Bumblebee ones at right say "Hope"
At least three different styles of poster depict other Transformers, potentially Decepticons given their more alien appearance. The text on these say "It's watching you"
A fourth poster features a human eye, with text too indistinct to properly make out. We would imagine though that it will be a similar vein of "they are among us. Keep your eyes open and report suspicious activity"
The general atmosphere these posters are creating is one of fear and paranoia among the human populace - it seems that following Transformers Dark of the Moon, humanity is seeing all Transformers, good, evil and neutral, as a potential threat. It sounds as though Transformers 4 will be putting an almost X-Men type spin on the concept of "Robots in Disguise" - hiding from a populace that fears and hates them, that they are still honor-bound to protect and defend.
