Tonight we wish to share with you a gallery of the latest offering from the Transformers Figure Subscription Service,
Breakdown
! Breakdown occupies a special place within Botcon lore which the Figure Subscription Service is an extension of - way back in 1994, Generation 2 Breakdown was the first ever Botcon exclusive. This new Breakdown ironically closes the loop, he is a redeco of the Botcon 2010 Generation 2 Redux Breakdown mold.
At his core, this Timelines Breakdown is a redeco and retool of the Universe Classics Sideswipe. It's a move which makes sense, owing to the fact that both Sideswipe and Breakdown were Lamborghinis. The deco is excellent, with the original Breakdown's off-white cream deco being faithfully reproduced, and the alternate head tooling created for the Botcon 2010 set looking at home on the mold now in Generation 1 inspired colors as it ever did. There is some great attention to detail as well - right down to a rubsign in the appropriate spot on the roof, just like the original. An excellent touch.
Overall, the Figure Subscription Service Breakdown is a solid and fitting choice for the inaugural year of the Figure Subscription Service. He is a very sharp looking robot, one that manages to put his own stamp on the mold. He may lack the combination feature present in the original Stunticons, but so do other modern reinterpretations of the combiners, like Onslaught or Drag Strip - and Breakdown looks right at home on a Classics shelf alongside them.
