I am so tired of these ****ing companies thinking avoiding gun usage in a cartoon is going to stop kids from getting ahold of them. Instead, they should be using guns in a cartoon to teach children about gun safety and why it is not cool to play with them like Gargoyles did back in the 90s.
All the fear mongering and hiding their heads in the sand about guns is actually dangerous for kids. Most parents nowadays just tell their kids that guns are evil and too stay away. For a young child that just makes it seem more exciting so if they ever do find a gun they will be more tempted to play with it. Teaching respect for firearms is actually safer. I remember when I was in elementary school we had books that features all kinds of weapons throughout history. Young boys love that stuff regardless and will be drawn to it. Now we suspend kids that use their hands as fake guns when they play on the playground. In a way, we are teaching them that the fake stuff is as dangerous as the real thing and since they know nothing happens when they play around how would they know the difference of what a real firearm can do?
I was actually taught about firearms so I know that if I had ever found one as a kid I would have known how to disarm it and never to point at one of my friends, ever. It's like how teaching your kid about a car brake is a lot safer than telling them to just stay away from the wheel if their bus driver passes out or something.
