Gargoyles is the second greatest ever. BTAS had atmosphere, it used the negative space style for its animation, it had voice acting, it was based off the best era of Batman's comics, the 70s, etc. Not to mention they let Denny O'Neil adapt (his and) one of the greatest Batman stories ever into the series. Then you have the things like Almost Got'Im, The Man Who Killed Batman, The Trial of Batman, Feat of Clay, everything with Mr Freeze, The Laughing Fish, Night of the Werewolf, etc. Plus, let us not forget Mask of the Phantasm.
It does not matter if you have nostalgia goggles on or not, BTAS was a masterpiece. The only thing I will say does not live as high is Joker due to him still having to be dumbed down for tv. However, until another series puts on a Joker that gets to kill people on screen, BTAS is the best we will get.

Both still pale next to BatB, though.
Uh no. Brave and the Bold was good, but it was too silly and was not really a Batman toon. It was a "History of the DC Universe with its Host Batman." Batman was just the catalyst to do a show that would not have worked any other way. Plus, as good as the show was, the first 10 episodes were utter crap and it was still sprinkled with some god awful episodes throughout the series. BTAS' first 90 episodes were classics with maybe 3 bad episodes in that entire lot.
