There is zero reason to overpay for these consoles as plenty of stock will be shipping. People just remember the PS2 "shortages" which Sony actually created to keep hype going. I remember waiting all night to get the PS2 and then you could sell them for $1000 because people were stupid. We bought two and paid our rent that month with the second one. I was 16 and worked at Best Buy at the time. I remember they would get 15-20 in and just roll them and literally anyone walking by would grab them. I remember people grabbing them and holding onto them while they called their friends to bring money so they could purchase it.

It didn't even take long for that them to start shelf warming. It came out in late October and by Christmas stock was easily on the shelves. Back then they didn't have preorders for the console like tons of places have already done. The hardcore fans have a PS4 now and everyone else won't mind waiting. Anyone paying more than retail just has money to burn and doesn't like to deal with the public. In two weeks they will be easily had.
