when SHIELD approached Tony Stark to fashion a mass produced variable threat armored suit to use against superhuman threats to national security, Stark provided SHIELD with the design template based on his own Iron Man armor, with an embedded failsafe in the system that could allow Stark to deactivate them with Negator packs should these suits be used against him or SHIELD personnel, but knowing Stark Industries has since halted weapons production, SHIELD went to weapons manufacturer Edwin Cord, CEO of Cordco. Military Mechanics.
what resulted was the "Guardsman" powered exo-suit, The armor only had the basic capabilities of the Iron Man armor. It could fly for short bursts, fire bulky wrist mounted downgraded repulsors, and had limited life support. It enabled the user to lift roughly 40 tons. several variations of it exist for specialized functions.
notes:
so here's m take on the famous Green Guardsman Armor. I used my spare PA armor iron man with ROC neo-viper head (forgot which version) gun from Agent Helix and hands from Major Bludd i think, decals are gundam decals. based it on the real life mock-up of the US infantry powered armor seen here:
