It was only about a week ago that
we brought you the news
of Amazon listing a
First Edition Transformers: Age of Extinction Optimus Prime
figure. Many of us had speculated that this particular mold was a Voyager.
Looks like we were dead wrong. Thanks to TFW2005 member Niv3k courtesy of the
Planet Iacon Facebook page
, we have a
size comparison image
of the figure standing
alongside MP-10 Masterpiece Optimus Prime and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Leader class Optimus Prime.
As we can see here... he's HUGE. As in, he's Leader-sized. He actually appears to be slightly bigger than ROTF Leader Prime.
The listing on Amazon is unfortunately no longer up, although it should come back soon. The figure's large size should go a long way towards justifying its $60 price.
However, this does, of course, raise a few questions. If this one is actually Leader-sized, then what does it mean for the NYCC Prime, which was reportedly a Leader figure as well? Are there TWO Leader Primes in this line? Was the NYCC one simply mislabeled, and is actually a Voyager? It HAS been reported that the NYCC Prime was rather small for a Voyager, so...
Speculate away in the discussion thread!
UPDATE:
We now have a few other images as well - one with Prime in a cool looking pose, and another comparison image with ROTF Leader Prime.
