Yesterday we shared with you a look at the new
Generations Cosmos
toy, and today, it's the turn of his wavemate (and Lost Light barkeep)
Swerve
! While we've had no shortage of different takes on Swerve over the years, this is the first one to truly update the original Generation 1 Swerve design.
As far as looks go, Hasbro completely nailed the look of Swerve - he looks just like he stepped out of the pages of More than Meets the Eye, and his robot mode is full of personality. His poseability is average, and his limitations really get shown up next to Cosmos, but that's not to say it's bad - you've got all the essential points of articulation there and a decent range on them.
Swerve comes with Flanker, an updated version of the Micromaster Sky High. The original Sky High was a concorde so Flanker got an upgrade to his alternate mode, and becomes a surveilance drone instead. His transformation is pretty simple, as is the way of the smaller figures in the Legends two packs. His gun mode is fun, and gives Swerve some firepower - presumably, Flanker handles aiming!
Overall this is a good two pack, not as great as Cosmos but still excellent. The design of Swerve makes it a must-buy for those who are fans of the More than Meets the Eye comic series, as Hasbro has really captured the personality of Swerve in this great little toy.
