Haven't all the Iron men in that line been the same one pretty much?
Also in the other line he may have came with the shield, in this line I think all the Iron Men come with that same blast.
Iron Patriot (the character) has no shield though. And not all ironmen came with the blast, just most did. The multipack ones didn't.
Patriot is supposed to be the extremis armor though, as that's what he adapted from stark. The others of his were only shown once in stark dissassembled where he had the retro armors converted too. The only other cap like armor is from the what if, which isn't Patriot at all, and has no star on the chest but does have a shield. It's the vibranium armor in the K-mart pack.
MU has had 3 different IM bodies so far, and 4 different heads.
Retro red and gold (comic accurate)
Retro Fin head red and gold (comic accurate)
Stealth retro (comic accurate)
Extremis (comic accurate) (Extremis and Civil War)
Iron Patriot (comic accurate) (Dark Reign)
Series 1 wave 1 (comic accurate) (Giant Sized astonishing X-men)
Series 1 wave 1 stealth (not comic accurate)
Series 1 wave 5 red and silver (not comic accurate)
So out of 8 Ironmen, 6 are comic accurate, and two are just common repaints both with file cards that explain why. That's not bad at all. Especially when you look over at spidey's line where they do stuff like scuba spidey, and ninja assault spidey, etc.
I like the IM2 figures too, but IP just doesn't really fit over there tbh. He's more of a Spidey bad guy, or at most a minor annoyance to the avengers. So maybe more towards the Avengers Assemble flick we might see him filtered in. But IM2 unless they do Rescue, Ghost, Madame Masque and maria hill to round out the stark dissassembled comic story in figure form, I doubt we'll see IP there. Too many other guys deserve it more in an Ironman only line, as opposed to a wash out spidey villian. Even Justin Hammer and his drones would need to come first.
Over in IM2 we have 13 Comic accurate armors. 7 Movie accurate armors, and the rest are all concept, repaints or filler. (besides the 5 civillian figures of Fury, widow, stark, rhodes, and whiplash.) So out of 30+ (since I don't know the final count with concept and movie or other repaints) figures only 25 are accurate to media.
-Comic Accurate-
Mk I
Retro Red and Gold
Retro Fin Head red and gold
Retro Stealth
Silver Centurion
Alternate red and gold
War machine (no chest circle means it's the stark worn version)
Modern Armor
Hulkbuster
Titanium Man
Crimson Dynamo
Vault Guardsman
Concept Vibranium Armor (what if issue Cap armor)
-Movie Accurate-
Mk I
Mk II
Mk III
Mk IV
Mk V
Mk VI
War Machine
Whiplash
Black Widow
Nick Fury
Tony Stark (unmasked Mk VI)
James Rhodes (unmasked warmachine)
Too many not accurates to list those with the other IM2s. I do hope they round out the movie ones and comic ones with more original character figures. Tony needs his rogues and friends rounded out. Like Jarvis, Homer, Madame Masque, Ghost, Rescue, and even Dum Dum Dugan. Besides the Hammer drones and armors at least. I do like their pace of 1 to 1 comic to movie it seems (not counting exclusives) so I hope that means the rest of the movie figs we haven't seen will be alongside comic accurate figs we haven't seen yet too, but considering the mold usage needs to get the most bang for their buck, that's unlikely.
But for a self titled line, before IP even gets into it, they need to flesh out Ironman's own gallery of friends and villians first.
MU may be slow on the armors, but with an entire Universe to cover, I say let em take their time. Especially since most of IM2 is filling the armory holes MU left. With only 2 filler armors used, MU has the stronger ratio.
Ms. Marvel is reused for nearly all female figures. Only a part or two have been made new.
Jean grey's Arms, upper legs, and waist piece the only female part additions I know of so far. The rest is all ms. marvel's pieces. Only the head and hair get changed per new figures, sometimes hands too. Even Kitty uses the Ms. Marvel as a base.
