After seeing how excited I was about yesterday's Godzilla discovery, my girlfriend surprised me with the who else but the King of Monsters himself. Today was indeed a good day. =P
Sorry Transformers fans, but I couldn't resist...
A couple of notes about Zilla, I have to wonder if they had more things planned for this guy originally. There is a spot on the back end (where you attach his tail) that looks like there was once a battery compartment, and on the front end of him, there are four or five slits in his belly, making me wonder if they planned for him to have motion sensors, or some kind of roaring sound. He has no electronics though within him. I'm thinking that it's quite possible the same mold from the smaller electronic figures was used for this guy, just in a more massive scale, hence why there's the unused kibble. It doesn't detract from the figure in any way, which is actually nicely painted and washed. My camera phone doesn't do him justice. Also, while he wasn't broken, sadly, my Zilla had a missing screw near the base end of his torso, which caused him to split open slightly where his tail attaches. I was easily able to replace it with a similar sized screw I had lying around the house, so it might be a good idea to inspect him as best as you can when running into him in the wild before purchase, or before playing with him yourself or handing him off to your kids when you get him home.
