Hey everyone! New here, my name is Moosh or Melissa. I am 24 and I need help finding/identifying a specific toy dart gun from my childhood!
Luckily I have a photographic memory, but it's not as good as it used to be but I can still remember some little details and I know if I saw this gun again I would know for sure if that's the one.
It's a long shot (no pun intended!) but I hope I've come to the right place!
Here is what I remember:
- It came from a dollar store here in Canada
- I got mine around 1996 - 1997. I wore it out so I had to get another within a year
- It was neon orange
- It had a larger wedge/triangle shaped or full trigger which was black
- The grip had small diamond texture which felt very rough on both sides
- It was very small, about 4.7 inches (12CM) or so.
- It was like a handgun, not a revolver, with a shorter barrel
- It had tiny gold writing on the handle, most of mine had flaked off, but I remember it had a "7" in there somewhere
- It was spring loaded through the front, where you push the dart down the barrel until it clicked in
- I strongly believe it was a "Detective" gun, maybe a Police gun, but I'm leaning more towards "Detective" on its packaging, which was a cardboard insert style pack with the thin hard plastic casing vacformed around it.
- It came with 3 darts only and a small stand up target. The darts had hard plastic black shafts, and reddish-orange translucent suction cup tips.
The shape of the gun is very much similar to this gun:
While the darts were very similar to these darts:
Thanks for looking!!
