Today brings us a behind the scenes look by
Bill Merklein
at some of the concept art for
GI Joe A Real American Hero
! This is the origin of some of our fan-favorite figures/characters! In this rare blast from the past, Merklein showed HISS Tank boards members Gyre-Viper and Roshan the concept art he was given as reference for sculpting the figures back in the 80's. Roshan has posted these images online for us to see:
Some of this stuff has been seen before, but a lot of it has not. Although Bill is putting up these items for sale, he felt it was important that everyone get to see these things so they could be enjoyed by the public given that a lot of concept art is bought sight unseen and is never allowed into the public eye.
Thanks to Bill for sharing the images with Gyre Viper and Roshan, and to Roshan for posting these images for us to enjoy! Click on the discuss button to see catch a rare glimpse at the history of America's longest running action figure line!
