Just because DC and MOTU are sold through the same website doesn't mean they share the same funding. You wouldn't blame a new G1-inspired Transformers toy for a Marvel toy being scrapped, would you?
Only if you think Kirby ripped himself off. He created both groups, just for different publishers - and yes, Challengers came first.
First doesn't always mean better, though.
I don't know how Mattel works, but is it that off to think that pushing out one toy (baby skeletor) may have directly or indirectly taken away resources for another (Doomsday)? You are probably right, but I would love to see that Doomsday but I will not lose any sleep over it.
As for fantastic 4 and challengers, rip off was a bad term for me to use. I just always thought F4 were Marvel's version/answer to the Challengers of the unknown. I agree, first doesn't always mean better. Unless of course you are Ricky Bobby, "If you're not first, you're last."
