K Dubious, how did you attach Spiral's extra arms? and can someone either do, or recommend a good tutorial on casting? all of the ones I've seen so far assume that the viewer(me) knows a bit about casting... and I do not! what paints/epoxies do you guys recommend?
I had to sand down the avatar pegs then I drilled four holes in her lower torso. I wanted full articulation, but I couldn't get the arms to stay in their new home, so I super glued the pegs. The arms still move they just don't rotate...
As far as casting goes I highly recommend just trying it out. The cheap silicon mold stuff I get at Hobby Lobby (the pink one) with the 40% off coupons comes out to be like 15 bucks and the resin is only 10 without the coupon. I'm still very much a beginner as well. I have learned that 2 part molds are the key to success and I always mold using old legos as my mold base.
For brush painting I use citadel paints from games-workshop and everything else I airbrush.
I just tried Milliput epoxy for the first time and I really like it, it's Super cheap at hobby lobby, only 8 bucks. I was using Apoxie that I got off the internet, but its a bit more expensive and I can't ride up the road to get it.
