Vikings
as an example of a smaller, faster warrior being able to take down a larger, stronger opponent regardless of proximity. Again, the fights in that show are largely fictitious (even thought the show itself is partially based on real historical events).
I'm not discounting your position (I do agree with you when it comes to certain scenarios), I just don't consider the matter as cut-and-dry as you.
I am actually always of the opinion that technically anybody could beat anybody given any number of circumstances. That being said, I do kneel to physics and it's limitations (obviously only to small degrees when applying fictional worlds) so I can still make some prediction of an event, and be surprised when I'm wrong. Technically I think it possible for aunt May to take out Thanos given very unlikely circumstances, but possible.

Don't want to start anything here, but assuming this battle ever took place it wouldn't apply to the notion. My theory of strength beating speed in one on one requires and is limited to close quarters combat (touching distance), using a sling to create distance disregards the strength of the other fighter.
